- In the search field, enter Frontend Admin and press enter.
- Locate the Frontend Admin listing and click Install Now.
- Once the installation is complete, click Activate.
- Agree to the terms when prompted.
Creating Your First Form
Now that Frontend Admin is installed, you can start creating forms:
- From the WordPress Dashboard, go to Frontend Admin > Forms.
- This will take you to the Frontend Admin Forms Dashboard, where you will see a list of existing forms.
- The plugin includes a few example forms by default. You can edit or delete these as needed.
- Click Add New to create a new form.
Choosing a Form Type
When creating a new form, you first need to select a Form Type:
- There are multiple form types available, each with presets that pre-fill relevant fields.
- You can fully customize the form later.
- If you need a form with multiple data types, choose Frontend Admin Form.
Give your form a title, then click Create Form.
Customizing the Form
Once your form is created:
- A set of default fields will be added automatically.
- Click on any field to edit its options.
- You can add new fields, remove defaults, rearrange fields, and more.
For detailed instructions on using the form builder, refer to our full article on the form builder (linked below).
Publishing the Form
Once you’re satisfied with your form setup, click Publish. Now, your form is live and ready to be added to your website.
Adding the Form to Your Website
Every form generates a unique shortcode, displayed in the form settings. To add the form to your site:
- Copy the shortcode by clicking the copy button.
- Paste it anywhere on your website where you want the form to appear.
This method works with any page builder:
- Gutenberg – Add a Shortcode Block and paste the form shortcode.
- Elementor – Use a Widget to insert the shortcode.
- Oxygen – Use an Element to add the shortcode.
Testing the Form as a Non-Admin User
By default, only admin users can see newly created forms. To ensure other users can access the form:
- Open the page in an incognito window while logged in as a different user role (e.g., Author).
- If the form does not appear, update the form’s Permissions:
- Go to Form Settings > Permissions.
- Add the necessary user roles (e.g., Author, Editor).
- Click Update to save the changes.
- Refresh the page to confirm that the form is now visible for the selected roles.
